I always wanted to be a writer. But to be honest, I never thought I actually would... Until I was.
Originally from Detroit, I ventured all the way across the Canadian border to do my BA "abroad" in Windsor where I focused on politics, economics, languages and the like. Once I earned my degree it was finally high time to really go abroad. With no more than $300 in my pocket, I bought a one-way ticket to Germany, a country where I had neither visa, nor work, nor home. It must have been a mix of bravery and extreme naivety that convinced me that it could actually work. It did work. It obviously didn't go as smoothly as it had in my 23-year-old mind, but it did lead me on the path to becoming a writer.
Fast forward a bit and I was interning, freelancing, and picking up student jobs to finance my Master's degree. The topics were always politics or economics, yet by default, as the native English speaker in a non-native English speaking country, I found myself writing all sorts of company communications wherever I was working. As I continued writing and writing some more, I realized that writing is actually what I'm passionate about (cue in childhood dream). And not only about economics and politics, but campaign ideas and copy of all kinds, jazzy newsletters to increase customer and employee motivation, press releases to communicate a company's big news, social media concepts and websites to keep companies agile.
It was around 2013 when that aha moment finally hit and I realized that just maaaaaybe I am indeed a writer.
So, here we are.

I’m an MA graduate with 15+ years of international work experience in North America, Europe, and Asia as an International Creative Content & Copywriter, Editor, Translator (DE-EN), and Yoga Teacher.
I'm also an herbalist-in-training and have a company called Wild Leaves, but that's a story for another page.
